Skip's Custom Flooring
1980's
Skip Wolfe began his career as an installer for carpet, laminate and vinyl flooring. He also started his family, with his wife Cathy, while working overtime – nights and weekends.
1990's
Skip added installation of hardwoods to his repertoire, as well as refinishing hardwoods. By the end of the decade, SKIP’S CUSTOM FLOORING was a family business – with a van as the warehouse and showroom.
2000's
Skip and Cathy opened their first showroom, in their hometown of Dansville, NY – on Dock Street. Pat was hired in 2001 as an installer, and is still a valued employee at SCF. Skip passed on his installation skills to his eldest son, John, who joined the ranks in 2005. The showroom was moved to a larger location in Dansville, at 17 Maple Street.
2010's
The thriving family business was joined by Skip and Cathy’s youngest son, Joe, who has focused on retail and marketing. The venture continues, as the family has expanded, with their largest showroom – at 61 S. Main St. in Canandaigua. This new location carries not only a plethora of flooring samples, but also in-stock carpet, sheet vinyl, luxury vinyl planks/tiles, ceramic and porcelain tiles, mosaic tiles, installation supplies, and more!
